If You're Worried About "Pirates..." Relax!
With the advent of the sequel to "Pirates: Curse of the Black Pearl" recently - and all of the attending hype of a Disneyland celebrity-studded, red-carpet premiere, plus all of the merchandising hoopla- the question among Disney "purists" (such as myself, I'll freely admit) is whether or not the classic "Pirates of the Caribbean" attraction has been substantially tampered with to the point that the Captain Barbossa and Jack Sparrow characters which were added detract from the original attraction...more

E.P. Ripley Steam Engine

The E.P. Ripley original Steam Engine from the Disneyland Railroad was at the Fullerton Railroad Days on May 6th and 7th 2006. What's Up - Christmas in July
Hello, everyone. Even though it warm outside it not too early to begin thinking about Christmas - at least when it comes to the announcement of upcoming holiday items from Disney. Here is a few of the great pieces to look for - and some are already available ! I love the Holidays (and must admit to a Disney only tree) but so does everyone else, so I have learned that it is never to early to start picking up, or laying away items. Not only do you is it easier on my pocket book, but you do not run the risk of the item not being available when it comes time for Christmas decorating.....more

Epcot: Popularity Wins Over Education
Epcot, the second Walt Disney World theme park, has had its ups and downs since its opening in 1982. Walt Disney's original idea for what is now known as "Epcot" can best be described in what the letters E-P-C-O-T used to stand for: Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. Disney wanted EPCOT to be a place for people to live, work, and play, in harmony with one another as well as with the environment. He wanted to leave the world of traffic jams and create a world of efficiency, much in the same way that the original Disneyland theme park created a world of fantasy away from the real world...more

Disney Shareholders are Disney Fans Once Again

It is a good time for Disney fans and shareholders alike. Until recently, The Walt Disney Co. has had almost nothing but negative press. Between the lackluster support of Disney's latest domestic theme park, Disney's California Adventure, the general opinion that former-CEO Michael Eisner turned a once-magical company into a money-focused corporation, the demise of Disney's Feature Animation unit, the division that basically launched Disney into success nearly a century ago, and the loss of a working relationship with Disney's only recent successful film partner, Pixar Animation Studios, there was not much for a Disney fan to be proud of. Fortunately, this general negative sentiment did not stick around for long...more
